Join us on a wonderful hiking trip during the bright seasons in the mountain range where the reindeer still roam freely, and the varied landscape shows itself in all its glory.
Enjoy a spectacular night in one of our goahtis during your stay in Jukkasjärvi! A goati is a more comfortable version of the traditional lávvus. Thus, the tentroof is made of canvas which give you a unique closness to nature at the same time as the isolated walls keep you warm. The soft beds and the cozy fireplace make sure you relax and get a good night sleep. Natural materials as well as the warm, earthy colours gives the Goahti a calm atmosphere. The four tents are nestled in the forest next to our corrals, which makes the reindeer your closest neighbour. Following is included in your stay:
During winter season dinner is included in your stay. In summer you choose between cooking yourself in the joint kitchen or to visit a restaurant in Jukkasjärvi.
Each goahti is a conical room of 20 m² with one-meter-high insulated outer walls which are topped with long wooden poles covered in canvas. The tent is raised a bit above the ground and has insulated wooden floor. It is furnished with a double bed (1.40 m x 2.00 m), wood-burning stove, modern oil stove, chairs and table. A simple eco toilet is installed in each goahti.
Separate common facilities are located a few meters from the accommodations. The sanitary spaces include bathrooms with WC, single-sex shower and changing rooms and a wood-fired, mixed sauna. Both breakfast and simple evening meals is served in the lounge tent. Here you are welcome to sit down and socialise, read a book or just relax after a long day. Light meals and hot drinks as well as beer and wine can be ordered in the lounge's evening bar.
A goahti does not get as warm as a normal cabin, but the isolated walls, floors and the two heaters make sure to keep the heat at a comfortable level. Exactly how warm it gets depends on the temperature outside and how big fire you make in the stove. Therefore we recomend that you bring a warm pyjamas or sleep in thermal wear during the winter time. Though we rarely get complaints on the goathi beeing to cold, the fire heated sauna is a nice place to warm up in after a long day in the snow!
The toilet installed is very small and simple. It is an enviromentally friendly version that burns instead of flushes. Therefore it is important to follow the instructions given by the hosts. You wash your hands in a simple sink with water that the host help you to carry in. Shower, WC and sauna is located in separete buildings.
