Join us on a hike through the ancient primeval forest to the peak of Puimunen Mountain—Boaimmás in Sámi. Named after the mountain buzzard, this majestic peak serves as the perfect haunt for the bird of prey.

As we ascend, winding trails lead us through towering pines, lush moss, lichen, mushrooms, and vibrant lingonberry and blueberry shrubs. In late summer and autumn, the berries ripen, and after the first frost, the bright red lingonberries lining the path are ready to be picked. Take the opportunity to taste nature’s bounty as we make our way up to Puimonen’s summit.

The hike follows a rocky, kilometer-long trail where we can feel the roots of the forest beneath our boots. Along the way, your guide will share fascinating insights about the local wildlife, nature, Jukkasjärvi, and its rich history.

At the peak, we pause to take in the breathtaking panoramic views of Jukkasjärvi and the Torne River. Before we begin our descent, we gather for a well-earned break, enjoying freshly boiled coffee prepared the Sámi way, paired with sandwiches topped with roast reindeer.
