Márkanbáiki is an open-air museum dedicated to Sámi culture. Here, you can explore the rich history of Sápmi and learn how the Sámi people once lived in harmony with nature, following the rhythm of eight seasons and thriving in a nomadic life in the Arctic.
Within the area, you’ll also find our handicraft shop, where you can support local artisans by purchasing handmade souvenirs unique to the region. The shop is conveniently located next to our restaurant, Ovttas, where we serve delicious lunches and traditional fika by the warmth of a crackling fire.
