Lip Lip – Aurora

Experience Sápmi in the beautiful autumn colors on your own and let yourself be fascinated by the lights, both night and day. Our small cabin accommodation at Reindeer Lodge is the base for your stay, nestled in the forest and with the reindeer as your closest neighbor. Here you will find a balance between activity and relaxation for you, your partner, family and friends.

Day 1 - Arrival

The first night you sleep in a lávvu. A lávvu is a traditional Sami tent, where you sleep on birch twigs and reindeer skins, wrapped in a warm sleeping bag. Families stay in a cabin. In the evening there is time to familiarize yourself with the area, make a first visit to our wood-fired sauna or take a dip in the hot tub. At the lodge you have access to canoe, SUP-boards and bikes to explore the nature on your own. Dinner is served in our restaurant Ovttas.

Day 2 - Lip Lip Aurora Borealis

After breakfast, a visit to our open-air museum Márkanbáki in Jukkasjärvi awaits. Be sure to stop by Jukkasjärvi Church to see the impressive altarpiece. Enjoy dinner in our restaurant Ovttas before the evening activity, Lip Lip. By torchlight we go out into the night together to both see and learn about the Northern Lights. We have our reindeer with us to help us pull sleds with packing, just like they did in nomadic times.

Day 3 - Departure

After breakfast, it’s time to pack up, say goodbye and move on.
Don’t forget to say goodbye to the reindeer!
